Anyway, here are some recent goodies I got on Etsy: More of my favorite Rose Salve (I use this twice a day on my face and I love it!), some Matcha Tea (I've been adding the powder to smoothies), Herbal Tooth Powder, and an all over Salve (great for cuts, and little boo-boos Little A gets). Here is the shop I buy from, excellent hand crafted, mostly organic stuff. She uses a lot of local stuff that she finds in her own yard!

Last week, we had a beautiful day that called for a walk! Little A really enjoyed the fresh air after being sick earlier in the week.

Over the weekend we hit up Dean's Market in Basking Ridge for lunch. I had some Brad's Raw Flax Crackers that I dipped in guacamole.

I also had an "Immunity Juice": carrot, apple, beet, ginger, garlic, lemon, and celery. Another way I fought off this cold!

This was another dinner: a big bowl of broccoli and cauliflower in tomato sauce topped with raw olives and Nutritional Yeast. So comforting!

Followed by a Moonpie that I took home from One Lucky Duck! I have another in the freezer, can't believe I haven't eaten it yet. These are my favorite desserts ever!

I'll end on a healthy note.. This was a juice that Little A made (with my help of course), and she drank most of it too! Hmmph! Parsley, kale stems, ginger, apple, romaine. Have a wonderful day!

Oh so this explains the kamut bun you had with your Quintessence burger! ;) I was wondering how you did after eating it. Mind you, it is an ancient form of grain and sprouted so I'm sure your tummy didn't mind it too much -hopefully! Thats crazy how fast you felt sick after eating rice - goes to show you are on the right track!!! Keep up the good work until your Colonoscopy.
I think I'm going to order that salve too :) Your dinners always look so warm & comforting.=!
Such yummy looking eats!
I am so glad to hear of your progress grain/bean free!!
In the past 16 months of being grain/bean free, the only grain I ate ONE TIME was black sticky rice! I heard it was the easiest starch for me to eat. So I made this big veggie Thai coconut curry dish, and found myself not really liking the rice, it tasted so bland and lifeless compared to all the veggies on my plate. But I did eat some of it, and later that night I felt all sluggish, and icky. I truly no longer crave any rice or beans at all, and my body no longer recognizes them as food. And my world greatly improved and took a 180* turn when I gave up grains/beans too.
Love hearing about your progress sweetie!!

I'm off grains and beans too ... it's been challenging, but doing it!! My natural health practitioner says that grains can be inflammatory ... so I have been eating more squash, it is comfort food to me. :) Keep up the good work Lauren!! :)
Sounds like your body really knows how to tell it what it needs and doesn't. Hopefully, you won't have to give up your quinoa.
Interesting about the rice protein. I can't handle a lot of grains either, such as rice, but rice protein doesn't bother me at all, as long as I limit the amount of the ones sweetened with stevia. I think I'm one of the only people who gets headaches and sometimes an upset stomach from too much stevia. I can only have it once or twice a week. I wish it wasn't in so many of my favorite things.
I'm glad your grain/bean free food is helping you, it's definitely interesting to read about. I'd also be interested to hear how you get on trying other grains and beans in the future but until then I hope your colonoscopy goes as well as these things can.
Yummy looking food as always! :)
i'm glad the new diet is helping!! hopefully you'll be able to find some grain or pseudo grain that your tummy can tolerate!
