28 and Everything is GREAT!

Hey All! Today begins my 28th trip around the sun! I am so happy to start off this year feeling good and eating good. Most of the meals in this post are liquid because I was easing myself into eating a lot of fiber again. I find blending and juicing to be the best way to get nutrition when I am on the mend.

This juice was: Romaine, Cucumber, Apple, Celery, Lemon. Baby A and I shared, of course.
I am pretty sure I am considered a crazy person at the Sushi station at my Whole Foods. Let me explain, I was looking at a brown rice avocado roll when I saw the guy making something with a lot of veggies in it. So I circled around and came back when he was packaging them up. As he walked around to put them with the rest of the rolls, I stared at the boxes the whole time. He placed them down and I grabbed one really quickly, SCORE! The box said "NEW: Vegetable/Hummus Roll"!!!! I looked at the guy and exclaimed "THIS IS VEGAN TOO? OH MY GOD, YOU MADE MY DAY! THIS IS MY KIND OF ROLL!" The guy gave me a strange look, laughed and walked away. HA HA! Yea, insane food loving person over here! :) Anyway, the roll had hummus, nori, avocado, red pepper, lettuce and carrot in it. No rice, but full of flavor. Of course Baby A loved them too! ;)
We hit up the juice bar in town on Sunday for a little pick-me-up: Romaine, Kale, Apple, Celery, Cucumber, Lemon.
Since I am trying to get as many good greens and nutrients in my diet, I traded in my Pure Bars for these Amazing Grass Raw Green Super Food Bars. They have wheatgrass, barely grass, alfalfa, spirulina, spinach, chlorella, broccoli, flax, maca, acai.. and the list goes on. They are pretty tasty too.
This was a smoothie I made one morning: Sunwarrior Chocolate Protein, Banana, Frozen Cherries, Chlorella, Wheatgrass Powder, Almond Milk, Chia Seeds, E3live. Again, trying to get a big boost in my drinks.
Another similar smoothie with spinach added.
Finally, the people at PREMAE Skincare send me there Clemensy Face Balm to try out. Premae's products are vegan, natural, eco friendly and allergen free. The Clemensy Balm is FANTASTIC! First of all, it smells of Italain Ylang Ylang and Rose Oil, so pretty and delicate. The balm went on my skin like a light oil that absorbed right away, leaving me with that fresh, dewy look.
When I applied it at night, the next morning my skin would be as soft as Baby A's bottom. ;)  I was a little worried that I may breakout from using something new, but, that wasn't the case at all. In fact, my skin improved from using it. I will continue to use the Clemensy Balm until I finish the tin (which goes a LONG way since you only need a pea size amount for your whole face). Anyway, if you are looking for something like this,  I definitely suggest this face balm. Or any of Premae's products for that matter.
Have a great day all! We are going for a vegan dinner tonight, then celebrating with some friends on Friday night at our house. XO

Happy birthday! I love the way you refer to it as your 28th trip around the sun. I'll have to remember that.

Glad to hear you are doing better just in time to celebrate. I would have done the happy dance for those rolls, too. I'm sure the people at the Whole Foods near me think I'm strange, but at least I'm enthusiastic about good food.

I need to check out that face balm. Looks right up my alley.

Happy Birthday!!!! TO a great blogger and friend. Hope your next trip around the sun is a fun one.

I would LOVe some of that sushi, hummus is a great addition. I think I have tried that, if not, I need to!

I am concerned about your green smoothie intake. Do you know those are just empty calories? ;-)
