On Friday, T wanted to make dinner. He make a broccoli/potato/bean soup. Basically he just cooked down the potatoes with garlic and added broccoli, sundried tomatoes, carrots, kidney beans, low sodium vegetable broth and spices. Then he blended most of it. This turned out amazing!!! He also made croutons with sprouted grain bread. I hadn't had sprouted bread in a long time, and I use to be able to tolerate it. Not anymore!!! Looks like no form of wheat works with me! Boo!
After the soup, I enjoyed a truffle.. or two..
No post is complete without some chocolate! ;)
On Saturday morning, T picked a bunch of figs from our tree!! We gave more then half away to family, so I didn't get a chance to make anything. Baby A LOVES figs!
Since the Yoga Festival was a block over from The Twisted Tree Vegan Cafe, we went there for lunch. I started with the White Bean Soup! Sooooooo good!
Then I had a garden salad with a side of hummus. Yummy!
After that we headed back to The Yoga Festival to see if the missing vendors decided to show up. Unfortunately, they did not! But I did pick up raw macaroon from Good Karma Cafe's stand.
These were really good! They tasted like a cookie macaroon. If that makes sense. ;)
Here is Baby A, T and I at the Yoga Festival.
And again, our little fam!
More from the weekend soon! Have a great day!

Chippin Kale! That's too cute.
The macaroons look yummy!
Sexy momma!! What an adorable family pic :)
Ok - I'm right there with you on the sprouted bread. In fact, sprouted bread causes more trouble for me, than overly processed wheat bread - which, I can sometimes handle. Sprouted bread (or tortillas, pasta, etc...) though, is always a NO for me!
lovely family pic. you guys look so happy.
someone tried to tell me that sprouting the grain takes out the gluten. um, no. i guess some people can get away with that but i won't chance it. sorry you have to be GF but hey, you are in good company. ;-) there are about 4 new vegan/GF cookbooks coming out so that is good news.
i had fresh figs from a tree not long ago and they were amazing! i hadn't had too many figs before that now I am hooked! If I ever get my own place I am planting a fig tree for sure. lucky you!
sorry to hear the festival was lacking food vendors...I was going to bring my bike down and ride around to see what food I could munch on...glad I didn't make the trip! Happy it didn't rain for you though :)That soup T made looks amazing! mmm...

Such a drag when you're really looking forward to an event and it disappoints. Sorry it wasn't all it was supposed to be. But, you did get some goodies. :-)
As always, beautiful family.

Love the family picture - what a sweet family!
I've never tried purchased kale chips - I have a dehydrator so I'm able to make my own. Do the packaged ones stay crispy?
I want a truffle. Or two.
Beautiful family, great pic!
We moved and now have a giant fig tree in our yard, problem is, having never had a fresh fig before, I have no idea when they are ready for picking/eating? Any tips?
Hey Treesa! Pick them before the squirrels fet them! Lol! They will be soft and have a crack in the bottom where you can see the sticky stuff leaking out. So yummy! :)
