Hey All! Happy August! I hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for all the feedback on my food/exercise journal. I am going to try to post another one this week, but I have so many yummy food pics from the weekend that this might be a busy week on the blog! ;)
On Saturday night, T and I had our second date night since the baby was born (8 months ago!). Ha! We went into the city and hit up Blossom Cafe. We have been to the other Blossom location in the past, so we knew we were in for some good eats.

I have hear mixed reviews about Blossom and so have still not tried it. I might go for that milkshake, though ;)
looks good!! The pasta was surprisingly not too rich. i was worried of the same thing!
Aren't those sweet potato rolls awesome?! Just went there for the first time last year and had them..so neat!
I visited a veg restaurant with some girlfriends and I have been dying to take my hubs there to try it ever since!! I LOVE date nights but ours are very rare!!! :(
I'd love to get to Blossom some day soon; it sounds like there is so much great stuff. The eggplant dish you made looks great too.
I switched off soy milk to rice milk for fear of overdoing the soy. :D (pre-emptive strike!Ha! Take THAT, Soy!)
those sweet potato rolls do look so good! I'm not a huge tempeh fan but bummer it wasn't all that great. Butterfinger? yummers! As for soy anything, no neg reactions. I don't consume much of it but did have an organic soy hot chocolate today. Yum!
I loved the regular Blossom but haven't eaten at the Cafe. It looks great though. I am making an eggplant dish right now from "The Indian Slowcooker" book. "Fiery Eggplant". I go back & forth on soy. I tend to eat a lot of nuts if I try to eat mostly raw and then I figure I should be having tofu pudding with stevia instead of raw cashew creme or avocados!! I don't know if it bothers me, but probably if I eat too much. But I don't do anything more processed than tofu or tempeh, which can even be made at home, so it's not like crazy processed!
Butterfinger milkshake??? That sounds amazing..I used to love butterfinger blizzards!
I'm jealous. I didn't get my first date night with my hubby after Hayden was born until she was 9 months old. I know how important those can be. Glad to hear you're finding time for them again.
Those sweet potato wraps look interesting. Raw sweet potato never digested well for me, which is why I still eat them cooked. I wonder if I'd be okay with those rolls.
I also don't do so well with soy. I only have it on occasion when I'm out somewhere.
yes i react to soy too. worse to tempeh! some have the other reaction, worse to processed soy. i get joint aches, well worse than I already have.
that milkshake, wow, i need to take a trip JUSt for that. hope someday we can meet at blossom. :-)
oh wow I need to try those raw sweet potato rolls, they sound amazing!!
