Lots of Raw and a Recipe

Hey Sunbugs! I hope you all had a great week. Mine started off rough, but it is ending on a better note. I had a doctor's appointment with my gastrointestinal doc and he set up another colonoscopy. I have been about 60% since having the baby, so he wants to check out what is going on. Right now I am going to up my probiotic intake along with E3live and Chlorella tablets, hopefully that will help with the healing process. My Crohn's is all emotion related, so you can imagine after my rough labor, the baby being in NICU, my step-grandma passing last week, and other personal things going on, that of course I would be having some issues. But anyway, today I am feeling much better and I am going to stay positive and hope for the best.

Last week, Whole Foods had an amazing sale on organic strawberries and I had to grab a few containers. These bad-boys didn't last very long!
One night for dinner I made Kristen Suzanne's High Raw Power Quinoa. This recipe comes from her Easy Raw Vegan Transition book. Cooked quinoa with raw vegetables. So yummy!
I finally dusted off my dehydrator and made some yummy raw onion bread.   I used a recipe I found online and used raw curry flavored sunflower seeds instead of plain. What a nice little change! Yum!
Here are the crackers with some raw kraut, avocado, curry powder and raw vegan hummus/pate. I was attempting to make up my own raw vegan hummus and it came out more like a hummus/pate. Here is the recipe:

Lauren's Raw Vegan Hummus/Pate:
3 baby portabella mushrooms
1 stalk celery
1 zucchini
1 cup walnuts
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons raw coconut aminos (or Bragg's, Tamari, etc.)
A sprinkle of Cumin
Add all to the food processor and mix until smooth! Enjoy as you would any hummus! :)
I got a lot of questions regarding Greener Grasses. The reason I use this green powder over others is because nothing is added that could effect my breastmilk and it is safe to use while breastfeeding. Pretty simple! :) Also, I add it to my morning smoothie daily. This one was: banana, almond milk, Greener Grasses, Sunwarrior Chocolate Protein, Spinach, Dulse Flakes and cinnamon. Yummy!
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommy's out there! This is my first "official" Mother's Day (last year I celebrated pregnant). I am so excited to spend the day with my little angel and my loves! Have a great weekend all!

GREAT pate recipe! And so, so sorry to hear that you're not feeling your best. You've had quite a year, my friend, and you've dealt with it all SO bravely. Give me 7 years, and I'll be your doc ;-)

Great recipe. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling your best. Yes emotions can end up changing things in our body.(Oh boy do I know this one). However sounds like you are on the right track by taking some great stuff.

Thanks for sharing the crackers, they look great and of course they have curry in them. So Yum!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Beautiful strawberries!

It's crazy how emotions mess with our health. Just think if you didn't eat as healthy as you do, your body would be more of a mess. When my brother-in-law passed away a few years ago I got sick and then relapsed the evening of his funeral. I know it was because of how emotional I was.
Keep up the wonderful food and that pate sounds and looks great!

Happy Mother's Day!

I love a nice thick hummus like that. Ans we've been downing the strawberries too.

I think most moms feel completely worn out the first year, and having an chronic illness makes it just more complicated. You are so brave and dedicated to your daughter. Happy Mother's Day to a wonderful mom and great friend too.
