A little while later I enjoyed this Lydia's Organics Raw Bar. I found it a little hard, but on the package it says you can moisten it to make it softer. Maybe I'll try that next time.
On Saturday, it was back to Whole Foods for some lunch! I made a big salad with raw kale, avocado, hummus, roasted potatoes, green beans and broccoli.
And for dessert I made Judita's Raw Fruit Tart from her new book Going Raw.
On Sunday, we went to lunch (we like having lunches out on the weekend, obviously) at a place in town. I ordered a cup of white tea..
A fruit bowl..
And a salad with sprouts, avocado, tomato and onion.

That fruit bowl looks really great!
Congratulations on 5 years; Enjoy your mini-moon anniversary date! :D
sounds like a beautiful weekend indeed...good eats...great company and some delicious dessert...the tart looks amazing!!!
=)
Ok, funny timing on this post - So, last week while I was in SF, I ate just about every raw product on the market (I deemed it "market research" hahaha). Any who, I couldn't finish everything so I brought the Lydia's bars home with me. I ended up consuming over the past couple of days, and I actually sent my friend back in SF an message that read something along the lines of "do not buy...EVER" - Basically, it was the only product I tried that I wouldn't buy again. I hate to be that way, but just trying to keep it real :) (I'd hope people would do the same with Rawxies!!) Oh and if you want to know my most fav purchase, it would be Laughing Giraffe Snackaroons :) You've probably already had them, but they are awesome!!
That tart looks amazing! I want her new book.
I think that's kind of a cop out to have to moisten the bar, considering there are other bars out there that are plenty moist. Everything I've tried of Lydia's I've disliked. Some I even spit out they were so gross. Ok, TMI.
Happy Anniversary in advance! I am sure baby A will be fine.
Happy anniversary! I have not yet been to ABC Kitchen -- need to get there. And I keep forgetting that you're in metro NYC -- we must meet up someday! (I'm in Westchester, work in NYC)
I just made a TON of green juice, with basically the same veggies you put in. Everthing looks wonderful! Congradulations on your milestone! Next time I'm in NYC I'll have to try to to to ABC kitchen. Wishing you the best!
your pasta looks amazing, and I am not much of a pasta person
glad you had a great weekend!

Aww, happy early anniversary!!! How exciting!
I LOVE raw fruit tarts! Yours looks super delicious. I am putting that "Going Raw" book on my Amazon wish list right now. :)
Thanks for the recognition, Lauren-- here is the recipe:
-1lb of cashews soaked over night in unsweetened almond milk (or water or another milk substitute) plus a pinch of salt
Drain and then blend cashews in food processor adding:
2tsp. garlic powder
1/4 c. milk substitute
3 tbs. apple cider vinegar
1tbs. of herbs (I used fresh basil)
1 tbs. agave (could use less)
1/3 c. chives
1 tsp. black pepper
salt to taste
I added olive oil (about a tbs) and a whole bag of organic spinach (the green looked prettier :)
Gluten free, vegan brown rice lasagna noodles (boiled)
Marinara sauce
The recipe makes a LOT of "cheese" I made two 9x9 lasagnas, and gave some cheese away (its yummy on crackers too!)
Next time I would add nutritional yeast to the mix for more vitamins (we could all use that b12!)
Enjoy <3
Wow, super hungry now. What a lovely weekend!
The smashed cauliflower pasta looks so good, going to have to try making it, we have some delish cauliflower now. The tart looks so good too, everything does!
Happy Anniversary =)
