Apple Picking Again and Fun with Animals!

Hello Pumpkin Pies (I call Ginger, Pumpkin Pie all the time!)! I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was pretty jammed packed. Eight months pregnant and I am still up and about! Having a good time. :)

Going back a few days, on Friday we headed to Whole Foods for dinner and groceries. I had some brown rice avocado sushi.
I also grabbed a fresh made juice, Honeycrisp Apple!! Yum! I love that my Whole Foods makes unpasteurized juice and Honeycrisp? The.Best.
On Saturday we went to lunch at our favorite little salad/soup bistro. I had a plate of white beans.
And a big bowl of vegan split pea soup!
After lunch we went apple picking (again) this time with my brother in law and future sister in law (my bestie!).
We picked a few since we still have some left over from our last apple picking trip.
I really enjoy the scenery. The weather was perfect too! A nice Fall breeze was in the air!
They had a lot of fun Fall stuff.
We wanted to get our pumpkin at another farm nearby, so were just enjoyed the fun decor while waiting on line.
Little baby white pumpkins, so cute!

After apple picking we stopped by a local health food store. I had an Apple Cider Vinegar Grape/Acai juice by Bragg's. I enjoy apple cider vinegar, I like to take a spoonful after dinner. But this juice tasted like the vinegar with a tiny splash of grape. A little too strong for my liking, and I am in love with Kombucha so you KNOW this was strong! :)
After that we went to a different farm that had some friendly animals.. here is T feeding the goats!
So cute! A few of the goats were fighting, a little one was beating up a bigger one! Sounds like Ginger..

There was a rooster just roaming the area! Ha ha!
The cows were chilling!
And a beautiful peacock along with some turkeys and ducks.
Finally, pumpkin time!
When we got home from our looong day, I enjoyed some raw chocolate I picked up at the health food store.
I really like this chocolate. Rich and smooth! Mmmm!
Did you do anything fun this weekend? Have a great day!

So many people got sick from Odwalla back in the 90's that as a company; they almost didn't recover. This is why they now pasturize and why most places do not sell unpasturized apple juice. It surprises me that a corporation like whole foods would be so irresponsibile. The store my husband works at won't even juice apples for you if you buy them because it's a huge liability to do so.

Thanks for your input, but they are well marked that they aren't pasteurized and they juice them in the store. There is even a warning for elderly and children. I prefer my juice unpasteurized because pasteurizing it kills a lot of the enzymes that make it healthy.

hooray for fresh honeycrisp apple juice (honeycrisps = my fav! and pink ladies!), some lovely brown rice sushi, oh-so delicious chocolate, split pea soup and some rock'n looking white beans. so. much. yumminess. mmmmmmm! glad you all had such a super fun weekend - i haven't made it apple or pumpkin picking yet this year - i need to find some time to do so before the season's over. eek! the split pea soup has me craving some, and dan 'n i have some smoked peppers that a friend of his gave us - i might have to make split pea soup next week. yum! this weekend we had lots of fun - dan had a show friday night, saturday we took julie beans for a walk at a local state park, we built a little bridge for our older pooch (ms. jasmine) so she doesn't have to use the stairs on our porch anymore when we take her out for walks, and we bummed out on sunday and watched football. a busy weekend, but a fun one. i like pumpkin pie - i might have to start calling dan "pumpkin pie". ah ha ha! hope your week is off to a glorious start, Lauren!

Quintessential autumn weekend here too. LOVIN' it! Ohhhhhhh, if they could all be like that.

I had a pretty chillaxing weekend. Lunch with some gal pals Saturday at a little outdoor cafe, and then we hit the local Apple Butter Festival. The whole town smelled like apples 'n cinnamon!

Yesterday was the Memorial Service for my friend who took his own life a few weeks ago. It was lovely. 10-10-10 portal opening and the abbot from the Zen Monastery did a traditional Buddhist ritual to assist Frank's consciousness to release its attachment to this world and to facilitate a most fortunate rebirth.

Apple picking! SO much fun - I've only done it once - while at college, because unfortunately where I live, apples don't grow - we're too far north :(

Looked like a wonderful weekend. Hard to believe that you're 8 months preggie already girl! :)

XOXO

Apple picking is fall isn't it? Sounds and looks like you enjoyed your day.
I went with a friend to a open house at a vineyard and I was so pleased the lunch was mostly vegan. They had a tasty butter bean pesto dish and a smokey fennel and cauliflower dish that was to live for!!!Perfect fall weather to go with it.

I tried that Bragg's drink over the weekend too. I liked it, but I think I just wanted it to taste like kombucha and it definitely did not, so I was disappointed! I hope to go apple picking this fall as well!

You are the first comment on my new blog and you made my day. I call my pets & sometimes husband pumpkin pie as well!

Honeycrisps are my favorite. Our WF had some huge ones and I've been eating at least 1 a day. I bet the juice is really delicious.

The leaves are flying off our trees at a very rapid pace now. I must get myself apple picking before the picking's done.

Looks like such a fun fun weekend! Goats are so cute! We saw a bunch of goats this weekend too but our weather was crummy. :( And I love your plate of beans (I love 'em as much as you). And we like to buy our drinks unpastuerized too. Healthier that way. I haven't tried that Bragg's drink but I do love kombucha! and hey only one more month to go! Yee haw! Can't believe it. You'll be going till the day before your delivery. Well, I was, albeit very slowly. hee hee!
