Apple Picking and Goodies

Hello everyone! I have so much to share from my beautiful shower, but I am still waiting on some pictures from my sister, so I will have to post that later in the week! :) I have a super busy week ahead. We have a doctors appointment, some friends are coming up to visit and go to dinner and we are starting our childbirth classes! So exciting! :) But anyway, I had a wonderful time at my shower, I am truly blessed by all the beautiful gifts I received and for all my friends and family that came. More on that soon!

So to go back a day or 2, or Saturday T and I went apple picking! I had just mentioned it in my last post and it was a spur of the moment thing. We happen to be in the area hitting up our favorite health food store. We are going to go again because it was still early, we like to go when there is a chill in the air and pumpkins to buy! Before we started picking we stopped at the health food store to get some goodies. We both tried out a coconut water we have never seen before. This was pretty yummy!

More on the goodies I picked up there later.. now onto apples!
We picked a few different varieties..
Unfortunately, there weren't any Honey Crisps! Good thing I grabbed a few at Whole Foods last week..
I love apples, mostly because they remind me of my favorite season, fall!
Here is our basket.. ready to go!
On the way out we grabbed some fresh apple cider, they make it right there for you! YUM!!! You would think we all these drinks a pregnant lady would be in trouble. Luckily, they had brand new bathrooms just installed! Whoo! My kinda place! ;)
Onto the goodies, I picked up my favorite soy-free miso made by South River Miso Company. I love the chickpea flavor, perfect for soups!
I also grabbed a raw chocolate bar that I had never seen: Fearless, the flavor I bought was Hibiscus and Ginger, a LaraBar in Carrot Cake and my old favorite standby: Righteously Raw Caramel Bar..mmm, heaven!
At the farm I grabbed some pumpkin butter! I love adding this to smoothies, spreading it on sprouted grain bread or a brown rice cake and adding a scoop to my oatmeal.
When I got home I opened the new chocolate bar only to find a bite mark! It was intentional of the company, of course. How cute is that?
So that was our fun Saturday! I promise, shower pictures and more on Wednesday! See you then! Xo

Hey Jen and Jaclyn, The pumpkin butter was from the farm we went too, they make it there. It's vegan, of course. But Trader Joes usually has a seasonal one that I think has honey in it. It's delicious!

Ooh, awesome treats!! That caramel bar sounds AMAZING!!!

Your apple-picking adventure sounds so fun! And honey crisps are my favorite, too. :) Bummer they didn't have any of those, but it looks like your trip was successful nonetheless!

I'm so glad I saw this post before grocery shopping today because I need more miso & wanted to try something new. That kind you pictured sounds delicious!

Can't wait to hear more about your baby shower!

Saw those chocolate bars at Raw vegan Source. I would be pissed about that bite mark--less chocolate for me! lol. I'm an addict for sure.

What a fun time apple picking. I'm so glad you felt up to it and are enjoying yourself.

lol! I thought that was a real bite mark in the chocolate! So funny and I love the stars on the squares. Fun weekend! That pumpkin butter looks nummers. I've never tried it but I bet I'd love it! And gotta love apples! They're so pretty too. And cool you're taking a birthing class. We took one took and loved it. It was helpful but also forgot a lot of it. :)

Hmmm, pumpkin butter...I'm intrigued. Adding a dollop to smoothies, you say... Must investigate this.

I made pumpkin butter today. It's SO easy. I'll put a recipe on my next blog for you.

Love the stars on the chocolate bar ... but, yeah, the bite mark means less chocolate!

Nice apples ... they're outrageously expensive around here and no one seems to have honey crisps (note to self: plant apple tree).

ooooh, yay! i can't wait to see pictures from your shower, Lauren. i'm so glad you had so much fun! hooray for apple picking! sadface on there not being any honeycrisps, but the ones you and T picked look so tasty! i'm gonna have to keep my eye out for that organic coconut water. the water in the stores here isn't organic and i'd love to find it. :) i've had that raw caramel bar before (read about it on Kristin's blog a bit ago) and they are soooooo awesome! the fearless bar sounds excellent - and i love the little bite mark. ah ha ha! fall is my favorite season as well - everything about it makes me so superhappyfaced!

Oh wow everything here looks so damn good. What is in the pumpkin butter? YUMMY. And that caramel chocolate? Kristen got me onto that when I visited her in Phoenix earlier in the year when she was still preggy. Oh and another thing. We know what we are having. Just found out 2 hours ago ;)

that's the only coconut juice in a bottle/can/box that I will drink. I LOVE it. the others aren't organic and taste awful. ;) yum
