Belly Eats

Hey Everyone! Thank you all so much for the kind words and prayers for my friend and her father. The situation has not improved, so she had to head down to Florida, I am hoping she comes back with good news.

Anyway, I'm glad you all liked my Coconut Bliss review! I love that stuff! Someone had asked if it tastes like coconut, I really didn't think so. But, T, always says it's all he can taste with coconut milk ice cream. So I guess it's different for everyone.

My little "pupernickel" relaxing..
I finally broke down and bought some organic cherries. The price is rather steep right now, so I went for the smallest bag Whole Foods had. YUM!
Another finally, I used my Kelp Noodles! I made a sauce that was mixture of this sauce by the Pure2Raw twins and this sauce by Kristens Raw. The sauce was delicious, the noodles? I'm not a big fan. I know so many people love them, but I just couldn't. I have issues when it comes to raw pastas. I really don't like zucchini noodles either. I'm just a picky Italian when it comes to pasta! :)
The left over sauce I used to dip some raw crackers in!
I made this yummy white bean salad one night for T and ended up enjoying a bowl myself. I used cannelini beans, celery, cherry tomatoes, basil, olive oil, Himalayan sea salt and ground pepper.
Last night I made one of our all time favorite dishes, escarole and beans. I made my own broth using South River Soy Free Miso! I just love that stuff!
Have a nice day everyone! If you get a chance check out Terri Coles audition video for Oprah's search for the next TV star on her new network OWN. You can vote as many times as you'd like. Terri rocks Crazy Sexy Life as our very own Life Coach and she is such an inspiration. Her show would be awesome!

yum!

i have tried kelp noodles so many times...hoping i will like them more "this" time around...and i hate them. finally learned my lesson and have stopped purchasing them! i had zucchini pasta once and i actually loved them, but i ordered the dish from a raw food restaurant. i'm the same when it comes to pasta...stubborn italian...

i've noticed too, that you eat a lot of italian ingredients...canellini beans...and escarole soup! makes me smile...and drool!

GUESS WHAT!!! i bought coconut bliss chocolate hazelnut fudge ice cream...had a teeny tiny taste, and it's divine. they didn't have the peanut butter or mint flavour...(insert sad face here)...but the flavour i gor made up for it...thanks for the review!!!

=)

have a beautiful day!

I love escarole and beans... thank you for reminding me it exists! I'd better crank up he AC before attempting soup in Florida in June, however. :)

Ms. Ginger always makes me smile - how is it that she's always the most adorable?!?! :)

i can totally see not caring much for those kelp noodles. i do kinda like the zoodles, but in small amounts - and with lots of raw pasta sauce & nooch on top. ah ha ha! oh man, i was thinking about you yesterday, Lauren...i had actually made zoodles and raw pasta sauce and thought as a last minute decision to put 1/2 a small clove of garlic in the food processor with the raw tomatoes and such. whizzed it around, tasted it - it was pretty yum. so i had the sauce 'n zoodles for lunch and the garlic was okay at first, but then it started to make me kinda "eh" feeling. now i know what you mean with the raw garlic and such. it's not my fav. it was like some kinda "ah ha!" moment - i thought, "i'm not the only one not big on raw garlic!" ha! anywhoooo..... i'm love'n the bean salad & your beans & escarole! a splurge on some organic cherries is a delicious one, indeed! enjoy them!

I've been buying cherries too. Just can't resist them.

Praying for your friend and her family. Hate seeing people go through hard times.

I'm a picky Italian too...I'm not a big fan of raw marinara sauce either. The trick with Kelp noodles is you have to soak them in hott water for a while...like leave them for a half hour. And with zucchini noodles, you have to shred them in the food processor. Or spiralize them, sauce them, and leave them in the dehydrator.

Hope your sister in laws Dad is ok!

Your little "pupernickel" has stolen my heart:)

Your food looks amazing as usual, I guess I will still try some kelp noodles if I ever get my hands on some, though:)

Hoping the best for your friend and her father.

It does probably taste a bit like coconut but I love coconut so I am not one to complain!

Kisses to Ginger, love her pics.

I love cherries...waiting for cherry season to explode here in Washington. it is one of the best parts about living here.

I didn't like kelp noodles at first either. Then tried them again after awhile and did. Some people say marinating them makes them less crunchy. I guess I just got used to it.

I loved kelp noodles when I first tried them but after a long while, the texture began to bother me. No matter how long I soak them in lemon and water, it just doesn't get rid of the weird crunchy texture.

....And I'm no stubborn Italian... Just a very stubborn Asian who loves soft, slippery noodles - haha!

Awww, Ginger is too kawaii (cute in Japanese).

I'm going to have to buck up and try kelp noodles already so I know what my opinion on them is lol ...

If you don't like the zucchini noodles plain, you might like them marinated and dehydrated just a bit ... having them that way totally won me over. They get soft and almost squishy ... a lot like "real" pasta.

Well, since you were probably weaned on pasta in your Italian home, I can understand the aversion to the kelp noodles. Still, I loooooove my Mermaid pasta. ツ

Ohmygosh, that would be fabulous if Terri got her own gig on TV! Off to rock the vote...

Sorry that kelp noodles did not go over well with you :( But at least the sauce was good, haha!

And my BF says he can taste coconut in things as well , as for me I can not. Maybe that is because I eat coconut all the time and I am used to the flavor that it does not even phase me anymore. Who knows? I guess everyone's taste buds pick up different things ;)

I can't do the raw pastas either. I'm Italian and grew up eating real pasta. Shredded zucchini just won't cut it for me!

Thanks for the Cheezy Hemp love :)

Today, I bought the peanut butter choc coconut bliss after reading your post. Hmmm Hmmm Yum!

And, I'm cherries like they're going out of style. That and watermelon. I have 8 mini watermelons on my counter right now - lol!

Those cherries look great! Apparently Whole Foods is having a 1 day sale on cherries TODAY, for like $1.99/lb! So cheap!
