Hello Raw!

Happy Friday Everyone! Thank you so much for the sweet comments on our garden! We are super excited, last year was a big success!

This week has been so much better with my all day morning sickness! Food is good again and lots of raw food has returned to my diet. I am so happy! One major thing with me right now is THIRST! I can't get enough fluids! My baby must be swimming because all I do is drink! While I normally prefer water as my drink of choice, it has not been quenching enough. Then came my new favorite drink: Olade! I found them at Whole Foods and I tried a few different flavors (ginger, lemon and pomegranate) and found that the lemon was by far the best! Olade is 99% organic, made with very few ingredients (deionized water, lemon juice, lemon oil, lemon peel, stevia and an electrolyte mix). To me it tastes like lemonade! The calories are very low too (not that I am watching calories now). I usually make a big jug of stevia lemonade every other day when the weather warms up, but pregnancy laziness has me not doing things like that! LOL! But I do plan on making some next week, since the sickness is passing.
I am so happy that kale salads are back in my life! I've had one everyday this week! I knew this would be something I craved since I craved them before pregnancy. I love adding different things to them to change it up daily. This one has Bubbies raw pickles and raw sauerkraut, Kaia Garlic and Sea Salt raw sunflower seeds, a whole avocado (I'm loving that!), and lots of lemon juice and olive oil.
This kale salad was pretty much the same except I added hemp seeds and cherry tomatoes. I will probably be posting a lot of kale salads. This is my favorite lunch and the kale is my garden is growing so beautifully, that I won't be able to resist!
I also have a new love affair with fruit! I've always been a big fruit lover, but the quench factor has really stepped it up! Clementines and watermelon are my favorite right now. Although, it's hard to find a good watermelon since the season is still a month or so away. But I've been known to take down half of one.. twice this week! :) Ginger usually loves clementines, but she has her moments. This time she wanted to cuddle with it! :)
For dinner one night I made some quinoa with broccoli and sprinkled more Kaia Garlic and Sea Salt sunflower seeds on top. I got this idea from Kristen's Raw. Her pregnancy menus have really helped me with food ideas that are filling, nutrient rich and have a good amount of protein.
And lastly, my little booger laying on my rebounder. Obviously I haven't used it in a few months (and won't for a few more), so she took to using it as her own little bed. She is too funny!
I must say, I have been feeling so euphoric since I am back to eating a higher raw diet! Plus all the pregnancy hormones, just call me happy! :) My belly is even taking on a rounder shape. T and I were laughing so hard the other night because all of a sudden, it's really there! I can't say I've grown anywhere else yet (except maybe my boobs), but my tummy is taking on a life of it's own! I am super happy and I can't wait to wear maternity clothes and show it off! Who would of ever thought I would want my jeans to be too tight! LOL! Hopefully soon! :) Have a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all my mommy (and mommy-to-be friends!).

P.S. A lovely bloggy friend sent me a little surprise to next week be on the lookout for a yummy choccie post! :)

I have just gotten into stevia lemonade too. So good! Glad they sell it for when I am on the go.

Kale salad with pickles-that's my kind of salad!

Ginger with the clementine is too precious.

Wow, how insanely ironic! I've been drinking the lemon Olade like everyday for the past week! It's sooooo good and it really does qunech your thirst! I find that if I don't hydrate before I eat dinner (which always includes an avo) then I am mad thirsty afterwards and when I am I go straight for that olade goodness! Strawberry is pretty good too, but lemon is def. my fav.

Glad you are feeling better! Happy early Mother's Day!

So happy to hear how happy you keep getting. Also glad you are up to eating again. I'm loving those kale salads you make.
I'm going to be on the look out for that Olade!

Tomorrow is Mothers Day and just think, next year you will be celebrating along with all of us moms, and you will be holding a beautiful baby in your arms.
I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about what a joyful day that will be for you!!!
Have a beautiful day today.

aww, Lauren, lol you are so funny. yup, i've been here. i don't use google reader either. you can't see any backgrounds. it's all one font! i'm going to get some more olade today, that stuff is addicting! i like that they use stevia and because i do bikram and sweat sweat sweat I can always use more electrolytes!
