Good Eats and Ooh Baby

Happy Friday Sunbeams! Thank you all so much for the anniversary wishes! We had a very nice evening together! We made some gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and a sprinkle of Nutritional Yeast. Mmm..
And shared these gluten free, vegan desserts! We actually drove down south about 30 minutes to a vegan bakery called "Papa Ganache", earlier that afternoon, and picked these up. I liked this bakery because they use mostly organic ingredients and Fair Trade unbleached sugar. They also have extensive gluten free options. I have noticed since being pregnant that the baby does not like sugar.. at all. Fruit and natural sugar is fine, but anything like this makes me feel crappy. I did enjoy, but later on felt a little sick. This was a chocolate chip cookie sandwich, a peanut butter cookie sandwich and a mini strawberry/banana smoothie cupcake. Everything was delicious. But I really can't say I crave sweets like this at all.
Of course, I had a kale salad every day this week. The usual suspects were in this: raw pickles, raw kraut, raw sunflower seeds, lemon juice, avocado, olive oil.
Yesterday, T and I went to our favorite salad place in town, for dinner. I had a big mesclun salad with shredded veggies, broccoli, cucumbers, black beans and white beans.
I also had a big bowl of vegan lentil soup! Mmm, although it was pretty hot here yesterday, I still enjoyed this.
A lovely green smoothie for breakfast this morning: Spinach, Mango, Almond Milk, Sunwarrior Protein, Spirulina, Chia Seeds, DHA Oil and Bananas. I always get questions on my straw, these gorgeous straws are from Glass Dharma. They are amazing, seriously, check them out!
Something else you all have been asking about.. the latest baby picture! Here is my little starshine.. 12 weeks. It has it's left hand on it's mouth. I am hoping it is a lefty like me! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

your little starshine is adorable, Lauren! awwwwwwww! you totally just made my friday awesome. thank you!!!!

the plate o' delicious anniversary pasta yummies looks great. we haven't had pasta in a while and i'm thinking it's about darn time. hooray for more lentils, another gloriously good look'n shake, and your infamous kale salads. yummers! the gluten-free desserts look great, and my momma said that when she was pregnant with me she didn't crave sweets that much because i didn't care for the sugar much either. she said she craved peaches and ate lots of those though.

have a fabulous weekend & a stellar friday!

Love those first "baby pictures"! ;-) So precious.

I was going to purchase some nutritional yeast for the family until I read that some people react to it as they do MSG. Sadness. Several of us are really sensitive to MSG...so I guess nutritional yeast is off the list for us.

Your kale salad looks wonderful. I'm inspired to try that sometime. =)

Awww! That's so sweet!!

That pasta looks delicious, and so do the sweets, but lately I've been realizing also that when I indulge in the sugar, I'm going to feel awful later!

Ooooooooh, the lil' diva does not like to be called "it." She likes "starshine" though. ツ

She sure loves to pose for the camera, doesn't she? I think she might be America's Next Top Model.

Forgot to tell ya, the latest addition to our large Hungarian clan arrived on Wednesday, weighing in at 6lb. 3oz. Petite little girl! Her name is Mikaela.

The little cupcake looks wonderful on that plate. I've never heard of a smoothie cupcake but like the idea of incorporating sweet fruit into dessert

The little baby is so cute!!!! I can finally make comments on Blogger blogs again! I think the Thai government had blocked it for political reasons. I hope this lasts!!!

Love the lil starshine photo! (fellow lefty here too;) Your food all looks dlish as usual and the garden is rockin! I love that you have fig and cherry trees, we're ordering our first apple tree this fall for the yard (missed the boat this year) next spring, I am so excited! Wish I could taste that raw pad thai, yum! Think I'll have to copy and try some ginger in my raw marinara next =)
