The Garden is Back!
Happy Wednesday! What a beautiful week it has been.. so far. Later on in the week is suppose to bring rain and cooler weather. Today we are having temperatures in the 80's! By the end of the week it will be back to the lower 60's! Oh well, I'll take it over snow!
Last week for dinner one night I made cauliflower, chickpeas, carrots, onion and cilantro all in one pan and throw some brown rice and lots of curry powder in. This was one of those "empty out the fridge" meals that turned out great!
This juice was amazing: Clementines and Romaine! I think I will make it again today!
Yay for veggie burger season!!! You all know how much I love Sunshine Burgers! My favorite this year is the Barbecue flavor. Last year, I was hooked on the Garden Herb. Funny how that happens. Anyway, I had it on a romaine leaf with stone ground mustard, avocado and Bubbies raw sauerkraut and pickles. On the side I made sweet potato and regular potato fries baked in the oven.
Over the weekend, we worked a lot in our yard. I even bought a few new additions. Last year (all of my garden blogs from last year), was our first Spring/Summer in our house and I had fun with the lawn ornaments. This year was no different, I added this cute little mouse saying "Be Happy!" to our yard.
And this cute butterfly on a stick! Along with the flowers we planted behind it.
We also planted our first row in the garden!!! Last year, our garden grew out of control!! In a good way, of course! I hope we have the same luck this year. So far we only planted kale. Since that can be planted early.
So, do you plan on having a garden this year?? We usually have our garden and a few pots with different herbs too! I am so excited to get planting! Have a lovely day everyone!

I can't wait to have a house so I can plant a garden! :)
aawww, I wish I could have a garden. I love to see cute little figurines/statues at the stores. I'm a geek!
i love the garden ornaments, Lauren - they're so happy and fun! fingers crossed for another fantastical growing season. yay! your oven fries look so delicious and i love a tasty "empty out the fridge" meal - they're the best! i've never had the bbq sunshine burgers, i've only had the garden herb ones - think i'm gonna have to switch it up and try some out. yum!
I love empty out the fridge meals! :)
We want to move in the near future, but I can't wait to start our own garden wherever we end up!
The curry rice sounds (and looks) delicious! I'm going to try it!
I am planting serious amounts of kale this year... I have 3 different kinds this year AND swiss chard!! :)
Woo hoo for gardening! We're still at the community garden but have 3 plots to work with. Sam's working on starts now, which consist of a variety of tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, peas, beans, strawberries, blueberries, squash, kale, chard, etc. So excited! And you know I love those darn sunshine burgers too. BBQ is the way to go. I sometimes opt for the southwest version if I'm topping it off with fresh guac. Mmm...
Oh, yes! I'm hooked on Sunshine Burgers too. Love those babies!! ;-)
We probably won't be able to garden this year...all depends upon where we'll be living and that's all very up in the air at this moment. sigh.
But, I'll live vicariously through you and some of my other gardening buddies. ;-) Your garden ornaments are adorable.
Eek! Garden season. I'm so excited. It just dawned on me yesterday when I was at the store and saw all the lovely produce coming back into my life. Yay! Can't wait to devour the strawberries I got.
clementine and romaine juice? very creative.
cute little mouse in the garden. hopefully he will scare away any deer who have the munchies.
i do have some gardening going on (other than sprouts and wheatgrass). mostly herbs. i hope to get pics up soon.
Love those last minute meals! And hooray for the return of your enviable garden!
I love clean out the fridge meals....they can be so delish! Yours looks amazin! Like that juice combo too:) Speaking of gardens, I just went out and bought a bunch of seeds that I'm going to start. I love growing my own food and this year I am going to have a big garden. I'm so excited to start too:)

I've been relishing this unseasonably warm weather as well. Spent the weekend "waking up" the garden from her loooooooong winter's nap.
Yummy rich compost added to the soil! Oh, it looks soooooooo happy now. Just beckoning, "Plant me! Plant me!" But something in my gut said, "Nope, not yet. Too early."
Sure enough, don't you know they're forecasting snow tomorrow night and temps plummeting down into the low 30s!
Sheesh!
I'm gonna wait it out a couple more weeks and then put in the "cool weather" plants like my beloved greeeeeeeeeens for juicing!
What a beautiful garden! I would have loved to walk there, and see all the gorgeous flowers! Thanks for sharing Iflorist.co.uk
I love love love the butterfly in your garden!
I usually just have an herb garden outside, and my dad has a garden so i reap that benefits of that.... plus we had raspberry bushes in the yard which is the best!
Actually, i need to learn how to garden! hehehe
Have a great day girlie!
i'm so stoked for my garden this year... we're building a raised bed to try and hope control all the weeds! keeping my fingers crossed!
LOVELY garden! Sending healing love to you, my sweet friend. xoxo
I wish I had a garden. I don't have much of a green thumb. If I did have a garden, I'd certainly add one of those butterflies to it. Beautiful!
Your garden is so adorable! I wish I had space for one, but someday...
I am also absolutely obsessed with sunshine burgers, and it hasn't died down since I've been eating them for a year. I always love garden herb, but am really into the southwest! It's so spicy and flavorful :)
It's so much cooler today! So much for lemonade, hahah..
Love Sunshine burgers :)
I'm a fan of those Sunshine Burgers as well.
Garden ornaments are also great to buy for friends who are garden enthusiasts as well. That is such a cute little happy critter.
I wish I could start planting. We are having big time gopher problems so until it's resolved, no garden. boo hooo!!!
Wow those burgers sound amahzing!! :)
