Bright Colors on a Grey Weekend
Hey All! I hope you had a great weekend! The weather was chilly and rainy here, yuck! I can't wait for the warmth to come back, this week!
The people at UliMana were nice enough to send me a package of their sampler: Tao of Cacao. Five of their most awesome treats: Goji Cherry Truffle and Dark Cacao Truffle, Chocolate Date Roll, Chia Moon Drop and Lemon Fig Pecan Bar. All were amazing! Everything from UliMana is raw, organic and handmade and they only use the purest of ingredients! Amen to that! I must say, avoiding cacao/chocolate is not working out for me! ;) (I am trying to avoid it while trying to conceive because I don't like the way eating a lot of it makes me feel.. kinda crazy.. but I am only enjoying it in small portions, so I am not getting that reaction). Anyway, my favorite was the Goji Cherry Truffle, actually, both truffles were so rich and decadent. Half a day was fulfilling enough for me!
I also really liked the Hemp Brownie, so creamy and rich, just like I remember them, only better! As UliMana says on their brochure, "Let Thy Dessert Be Thy Medicine!"
Over the weekend I also had a big kale salad. I added a Sunshine Burger, Raw Bubbies Pickles, Raw Beets and lemon juice. So pretty, so delicious.
Last night I made a big bowl of Millet and had Broccolini on top with lots of garlic. Someone asked me recently what Broccolini tastes like. I would say it's a combination of asparagus and broccoli, crunchy and pungent. I love the stuff!
Ginger sleeping on top of the couch yesterday, rainy day comfort. Sorry for the bad picture, this was taken on T's Blackberry. Ginger didn't mind! ;)
Have a nice day everyone! Maria and I are going to lunch and to my favorite new age spiritual store! Yay!

Everyone keeps reviewing that assortment. I really must get my hands on some. Yum!
Ha ha. You probably won't understand what I'm talking about, but the word verification I need to type in reminds me of "tiramisu" (but it's not). I'm totally a foodie.
Lucky you chocolate samplin' girl. I had a lot of samples of those at Raw Union. I went back for seconds. :-)
Do you notice the type of chocolate affects you? And what's with it? I do. Certain brands of cacao are more potent for me. And if I pair it with agave it's a double-pow. Probably why I make my own so much, more control. I don't like to get too wired either.
Ginger is too cute!
Love those samples! Yummy!
