Snow, Smoothie, Samples

Hey Everyone!!! It's another snow day here in New Jersey. Yuck, I want Spring already!!! Although, I didn't mind sleeping in and having a 3 day weekend! ;) But I haven't gone grocery shopping yet this week (we go to Whole Foods together on Fridays), so we are out of food! I hope we can get their later today or tomorrow! Otherwise it's going to be some kind of grain and whatever else is in the pantry.

Anyway, earlier this week I made a Double Green, Double Red smoothie: Kale, Cilantro, Bananas, Raspberries, Cranberries, Maca, Flax, Hemp, Spirulina and Vanilla Sunwarrior. I just received a new jug of Sunwarrior, this time I ordered the vanilla. I like them both a lot, but I think for smoothies vanilla goes better and with nut milks, chocolate all the way! I am trying to cut back on my chocolate/cacao intake because of the caffeine and trying to get pregnant. Although, it is becoming very hard, especially with all the samples I've been getting!Speaking of samples, Garden of Life sent me two new products to try out: Raw Vitamin D3 and Dog probiotics for good dental health for Ginger. With Crohn's, I tend to have low vitamin D levels, so I am exciting to get checked again after taking this for awhile. As for the pet breath powder, Ginger doesn't even know it's sprinkled on her food. There is no flavor, smell or color to it. Let's hope it works, she's got some bad morning breath! HA HA! I am going to be giving away some more stuff from Garden of Life in the future so keep a look out! :)
I also got some goodies from Transition Nutrition in the mail recently. Just for the record, I have never been paid by any company to review their products, I only receive samples and I always give my honest opinion. I would never push something on your guys for my own benefit!! Phew, okay, onto the goodies! The Wild MacMulberry (Raw Mulberries and Macadamia nuts) was pretty good, I preferred the Bliss Mix and would probably buy that over the other one. The Bliss Mix had cacao, pistachios, goji berries, mulberries and cashews... YUM! What a great little mix, perfect for an afternoon pick me up or for a hiking snack. The MacMulberry Brittle was a sheet of raw chocolate covering raw macadamia nut and mulberries. Definitely heaven sent! The chocolate tasted so milky but it was all vegan and raw! Totally yum, my favorite out of all three!
Have a nice weekend everyone! I hope to dig out of here soon! :)

I love Transition Nutrition! If only I could find their products here...and they weren't so expensive to buy online and get them shipped!

That brittle looks soooo good. We are snowed in as well, and I need to get to Whole Foods tomorrow or I am going to be eating english muffins all weekend!

how are you able to get free samples from all these companies? Do you simply write to them and ask? I am really interested in trying a few companies but i'm always sketchy about buying new things without trying them first...

Hi Schmitty,

I usually email and ask, but with Garden of Life I participate in a study group for their prenatal, so once in awhile they send along some other goodies to try out! :)

P.S. Sometimes they email me and ask! :)

Yummy! How much fun are samples? :)

Hey, how long have you been using Vitamin Code? Kristen (from Kristen's Raw) recommended them to me but I've been waiting to run out of my other stuff. They're supposed to be really good. And I like the fact that they're raw.

hi, i saw your comment on bitt's blog - i'm from jersey too! southern new jersey, very close to philly, and i can't find a raw cafe/chef within 50 miles! how about you?

you are so blessed to get all those samples. lucky you!

i really like bliss mix, mostly because of the mulberries. dried mulberries remind me of candy.

i use probiotics for the dogs and cats. i will look into that one. my dog's breath is usually ok (well to me anyway) but that's probably because i brush their teeth.

Everything looks great! My doctor swears by metagenics vitamin D3. I've been using it for the past 2 months.

Thank you for all of your sweet comments and support. You are the best friend a girl could have :-) I am always here for you, too. xoxoxo

That's amazing!

Wow there are some great freebies there to try out eh. And your smoothie as always looks delish. I totally know all about the empty cupboard syndrome as well...that is when I tend to consume more grains and tinned food :(

love the product reviews! and most people, not just autoimmune peeps, have chronically low D levels, even those who live in "sunny places". I learned this from tons of research.

Oh and I have a give away right now too :)

I use Vitamin Code raw vitamins and think they're terrific. Just ordered some of their protein powder as well. A top-notch company.

Never heard of Transition Nutrition or seen any of there products here.

Hope you and T dug out today. I am SO OVER shoveling snow. I just can't do it anymore (although it's coming down fast and furious right now).
