Garden of Life Raw Cleanse Winner

Congratulations to Discovering Raw: Erica, who is the winner of the Garden Of Life Raw Cleanse. I just finished my cleanse kit on Sunday and I found the whole experience to be great. I did have to get use to the fiber mix at night, but I just chugged it down knowing it was catching all the toxins I was releasing. Anyway, Erica, please email your address to LNastasi519@hotmail.com congrats again!!! For everyone else, I am going to be having another Garden of Life giveaway soon, so keep your eye on my blog!

Onto food, most of this was from the weekend. This smoothie was: Kale, Spirulina, Maca, Flax, Hemp, Raspberries, Cherries, Pom Seeds, Banana, Coconut Milk, and Vanilla SunWarrior!Over the weekend T and I went to our favorite salad place for lunch, we got it "to go" and had it in the car at the park (it was too cold to sit outside). In my salad I had raw mushrooms, raw broccoli, chickpeas, and shredded raw zucchini and carrots. YUM!
I also received my copy of Yoga Journal from a contest I won from Earthmother! Whooo, this came fast, thanks E.M.!
The other night for dinner I made a recipe I got from Body + Soul magazine awhile back: Mulligatawny with Chickpeas. This was basically lentils with chickpeas and Indian spices. I garnished it with some scallion.
Have a great day everyone! More snow coming to us in the North East! Boo!!! I thought Spring was coming? ;)

I think you purposely make smoothies to match your table runner. This one is a nice shade of heather. *wink*

Let's run away to an island in the Caribbean. What'dya say? T and Ginger can hold down the fort in Jersey.

Thanks for the well-wishes via my tum. Damn apples! haha. My Gmere was like, "don't you know multiple apples in a raw is like death to your stomach???" i was like uhh NO, but I do now!

I have a question. Do you actually like the taste of spirulina? I mean, is it an acquired taste (as in can one acquire a taste for THAT)? ;-)

Congrats to Erica for winning the kit!

I found some of those pom seeds at TJoe's and have been throwing them in smoothies. Thanks for the heads up.

Congrats to you too for your yoga magazine win.

sorry bout the snow. maybe you should move to seattle; we never have snow. oh wait that's too far away from pure food. :-)

sadface on the snow, Lauren. we got a wintry mix today - it was no fun. i hope spring is just around the corner, too. i usually don't mind winter, and actually enjoy it - but this year i'm over it. too much snow and being couped up. your smoothie 'n salad look rock'n! i loooove yoga journal. i get my mom a subscription to it and she passes along her old issues to me. it's the best! body + soul is a great magazine too - mulligatawny with chickpeas looks super delicious! yum!
