Sorry for the lack of posts again this week. I have been pretty busy going back and forth from the allergist and then I had an appointment with my OBGYN to talk about my pregnancy plans. But before I get into that, I had 2 days worth of allergy tests at the allergist. Turns out I am allergic to a lot of environmental things (molds, dust, ragweed, cat). But the food test showed that I wasn't allergic to anything! I am sure you find this as hard to believe as I do. I am not trusting it and will continue to eat the way I do. Meghan from Making Love in the Kitchen was kind enough to answer some of my questions on this and explained it a little further to me on the phone! She is the is so knowledgeable and even kinder and sweeter to talk to on the phone, then she is in her awesome videos (if that's even possible)!
My OBGYN suggested a few things, I am not going to get into details but I will be seeing a new gastroenterologist after my next colonoscopy in December. I am really happy with this switch since this new doctor has come HIGHLY recommended and is closer to where I live. She also told me that I won't have to worry about the baby in the case that I do get ill during pregnancy because the baby will take all my nutrients, and although, I might be drained from this, the baby will be fine, and most likely perfectly healthy. What a relief!? Now I just have to get super well so my colonoscopy comes out well. The pressure is on, but I can't stress, this is so hard!
Anyway, I didn't eat any new meals this week, so I didn't take many pictures. I made Dr. McDougall's black bean soup for lunch one day and added avocado and a scoop of brown rice. This is the perfect warming/filling lunch! YUM!

Good luck with your further healthy endeavors - sounds like you have a good plan thus far!
Good luck with your tests, etc...
PS- I live off of Dr. McDougall soups when I travel!
good luck with your tests! i know you are getting excited to expand your family.
i LOVE how green that soup is. i'm going to have to try the blended kale trick!
Good luck with your tests, it really sounds like you have a good plan and are on the right track! It is nice to hear you sounding optimistic and hopeful.
And YUM! That soup with the avocado on it looks SO delicious! I wish you were cooking my dinner tonight.
Cute Sigg bottle!
Very exciting stuff! I love adding brown rice to soup, it really makes it a meal.
Lauren, did I miss a major announcement? Are you officially expecting??
Ok I have 3 Siggs and I have never sent them back. Seeing yours, i totally need to get on that b/c right now they're collecting dust, and leaching their coating :)
Glad the Vita tip helped u, get off 2-3 and onto 7-8's baby!
GOOD LUCK = ) You seem to me to be on the right track. I have good feelings about it!
Ok, when they said not allergic, were they checking IgE antibodies or IgA or IgG? Those can show sensitivities. You still have to trust your body if you think certain foods don't feel good to you. I assume you've been checked for celiac disease? I know you eat gluten-free most of the time anyhow.
Good luck with the parenting/pregnancy questions. I am sure to learn lots from you even though I am not sure I want to give birth or adopt. There are certain challenges someone with chronic conditions faces. The baby being fine, mom being wiped out seems about accurate!
That's a funky water bottle! Love it.
Your soups always look so warm and flavorful! You put me in a soup-mood everytime I visit here :)
Pregnancy plans! Exciting! A sibling for sweet Ginger :)
Glad you are feeling so good these days, Lauren!
Good luck with your pregnancy tests! I didn't know you were thinking about this, how exciting! The soups look wonderful as always!
It sounds like you're having a great plan! Good luck with your tests!
Your soups look fantastic and I love the idea of blending the kale up, YUM!
I love that Sigg bottle! I did the same thing with mine, and was gonna chose that one as well as it looked Indian-y, but last minute I changed my mind. Now I wish I hadn't! So good to update our Siggs!
