Fulfilling Friday!
I am late on posting today! Friday's have become a bit hectic for me, but they are so simple and wonderful at the same time! I especially love Friday's because I go to acupuncture. Ahhh, so fulfilling and relaxing! T and I usually hit up Whole Foods and watch a movie together with some tea on Friday nights. Tonight we also went for a bike ride. We've been doing that just about every night, the crisp air is so amazing right now!Earlier this week I had my first pomegranate of the season! I get so excited when I see them at the store, I had to pick one up! Ginger and I shared this one along with the apple. What can I say, my dog takes after her mommy!
Last night T wanted to cook (he is a great cook, but I enjoy it, so I do it more). We had a few plum tomatoes left over from our garden. Unfortunately we didn't have many tomatoes at all. A lot of them were eaten by squirrels before they turned red. So we gave some to our families and enjoyed the few that were left. T made a delicious marinara which I enjoyed over Tinkyada brown rice/spinach spaghetti. I haven't had pasta or sauce in awhile, this was a treat!
This morning before I left the house at 7 AM, I wrapped Ginger up on the couch and she went right back to sleep. She lives a hard life!
Tonight was the perfect night for a nourishing bowl of soup. I made red lentils with chickpeas, kale, carrots and celery. I added some Soy-free Chickpea South River Miso Co. and a piece of kombu for some extra minerals. Try riding a bike after a big bowl like this! :)
Have a nice night and lovely weekend everyone!! I'll be back with some adventures from pumpkin and apple picking either on Sunday or Monday! Love and light!!

Gorgeous pomegranate!!
That's what happened to our tomatoes in the garden as well - damn animals, haha ;)
Happy weekend!!
hooray for the season's first pomegranate - and hooray for many more to come!
so awesome on your friday being full of so much goodness, Lauren. acupuncture, whole foods, and a bike ride - it sounds great! tell T his pasta sauce looks wonderful, and your soup does look super nourishing & comforting. mmmmmmmmmmmm! enjoy your weekend, Lauren - and say hi to T & Ms. Ginger for me!
Ive never had that tinkyada pasta but it looks really good. Ive heard of all the GF pastas, that brand is the best. I like how they made it with spinach. And your sauce looks divine!
I'd never had fresh pomegranate until a friend put some in a cocktail and I ate some of the gorgeous insides on their own, amazing! I haven't seen any around but will be sure to buy one when I do.
I love that Ginger enjoys fruit, one of my cats does too, it's so cute.
And I wish I could get some of the soy-free chickpea miso here
Haha! I had a pug once and I remember one morning, she slept like 4 hours later than I did. So funny. <3
WOW. That is a gorgeous dinner, babycakes!
So wonderful that you've spent quality time with your husband:)
I love the pic of pomegranate & apple, so inviting:)
Wow! your dinner looks so delicious! I love how you decorate your plate, it looks just like food they serve in a restaurant, so beautiful:)
Have a lovely weekend to you and your family too:)
Everything looks beautiful, especially that bright and gorgeous pomegranate.
I have a pomegranate at home that I haven't eaten yet! Awesome fruit, aren't they?! That spaghetti looks so yummy. I would love to have a little veggie garden at home. Unfortunately I'm currently in an appartment.
My mom always called poms "indian apples." Random thought:) Hey, do you do yoga? I can't remember, but I'm doing a 31-Day Yoga Challenge for the month of October if you're interested in joining me! or at least, stopping by the ol' blog and giving support:):) have a great weekend!
Great pictures! Love the pomegranate pic!
I have this image of Miss Ginger lying on her divan, being fanned with palm fronds and hand fed pomegranate seeds and apple slices all day. LOL!
Maya loves her apples too. Never had pomegranates, but if Ginger thinks they're da bomb, then she must try some.
Enjoy your weekend. Hope the weather cooperates.
Your soup looks delicious!
Ginger is cute as always.
My grandparents had a pomegranate tree when I was growing up so it's a must every year. They are selling them right now for 99cents each at the stores.
I haven't had a pomegranate yet this season, but you are inspiring me!
my dogs love apples too. they beg for them when i am cutting them up!
