Weekend Bliss!

Happy June!! This popped up in my yard this weekend..
T and I planted a bunch of bulbs in the early Spring, so we've had different surprises all over a yard!

Last week someone from the POM company asked if they could send me some samples. I told her that I didn't drink pasteurized juice but my husband does, if they still wanted to send it. Well, they did, and T is ecstatic!
To my surprise when I came home on Thursday afternoon, there was a rebounder in my living room. T had saw it on sale for really cheap (we are on major budget starting in June) and he picked it up for me! I've been talking about wanting one for the longest time. I've always thought they were really expensive. This one was on sale for $30.00! Can't beat that! Rebounding is great for the lymphatic system, detoxification, strengthening the immune system and burning calories. I've been jumping on mine first thing in the morning and then a few time throughout the day.
This was lunch on Friday: cabbage salad with avocado, sprouts, sun dried and cherry tomatoes, Parma and raw kraut.
On Saturday afternoon T and I went to Whole Foods for lunch. I wasn't in the mood for a salad bar salad so I had a pre-made fruit salad instead. This had mango, strawberries, kiwi and blueberries in it. Perfect warm weather lunch! I washed it down with a Kombucha.
For dinner Saturday night I made a big kale salad with avocado, sprouts, olives, sun dried and cherry tomatoes and Parma.
Along side my salad, a FALAFEL SUNSHINE BURGER! I've been waiting weeks for these and my Whole Foods never seem to have them. When I looked this time I almost left disappointed when I saw a different box behind another box. They were hiding! Happy day for me! :) These do not disappoint! I enjoyed it with mustard, tomato, sprouts and avocado. Next time, I want to make some raw hummus to enjoy them with!
On Sunday, I went to the Raw Food and Yoga Expo at The New Yorker Hotel in New York. T and my brother in law decided to go their own way and my future sister in law and I enjoyed the expo by ourselves. She has been vegan since February after reading Skinny Bitch (which by the way, I gave to my sister to read and she is almost all vegan now as well..she says she won't give up fish..we will see about that!). Now I am slowly showing my future sis in law all the healthy things she should be doing. We sampled cacao truffles, trail mixes, wheat grass and juices. She even enjoyed the taste of wheat grass (I thought I was the only one!).

I purchased a few goodies from Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes. I bought 2 raw goji bars and SNACKAROONS!!!! I have been wanting to order them for the longest time but the shipping was pretty high.. I couldn't resist when I saw them on the table! They are really fabulous and each cookie is HUGE!! They are all raw and have a major coconut flavor. I just hope I don't eat them all before the week is over!
Not pictured is some ChocAlive! chocolate I bought. I bought a 2 pack and gave one to T, and enjoyed one myself before they melted from the heat. They were fabulous and I hope they start carrying them in my health food store (I gave the lady the name of 2 great health food stores nearby my parents).

What a long weekend! I had so much fun! I hope everyone else did as well! Enjoy your week!

How beautiful the flower is!
That falafel burger sounds really good right now. I'll have to try out that brand, we're going wheat free for at least a couple of weeks, I need to find out if my son is reacting to wheat. I was thinking about getting a rebounder for my pilates. Enjoy yours!

Oh, it all looks so good! And the surprise flowers how fun. We just moved in here last summer so we are getting surprise plants all over the place. There are potatoes growing in the yard Potatoes. I know! it's silly!

So glad you had fun, too!! I'm going to do a long post on beauty products soon, but to sum it up: I use Natures Gate shampoo, alba face wash, and nothing but coconut oil on my skin! The shiny hair totally emerged with raw eating :)

Surprises popping up from the earth! How fun. Wonder who/what will show up next. Coincidentally, I had a very similar orange flower appear this weekend...a lily of some kind? And, I was like "Oh Hi! I have no recollection of planting you."

Okay, seriously, if you do not own stock in Parma and Raw Kraut...you should! :D

Sorry to hear Matt & Angela did not bring along any Sea Tangle noodles for you.

So, what do you use for dressing on your Kale Salad? I don't eat Kale much because I find it too strong. I've made some Kale chips before, but even they were really strong.

Also is the Falafel you mentioned RAW? If so can you share the recipe?

Hi Caleb,

I only use olive oil on my kale salads. I massage it in for 3 minutes to make the kale soft. It's something you should try, but I am not sure if you will be a fan (especially if you don't like kale chips).

The falafel is not raw. It's the Sunshine Burger brand, so it's gluten free, vegan, and soy free. Made from nuts, spices and veggies. They are probably the closest to "raw" in a cooked veggie burger that you can get.

Thanks for stopping by!
