Finally my reviews!

Sorry to keep anyone waiting! I know I said I would be back with a review but I became really busy and had no time! With the summer here, I am finding it harder to sit inside on the computer (although the sun has not shined much at all!)

Anyway, the other night I made a yummy raw soup. I got the urge after reading Gena's soup post. Here I blended, broccoli, celery, avocado, lemon, olive oil, water and spices. I am always sceptic about raw soups and I admit I am not totally sold, but this came out really creamy and rich!
I also made Hippie Loaf from The Happy Herbivore. I didn't have quinoa so I used millet instead. It was very tasty but didn't seem to stay in one piece! T and I didn't care though, we enjoyed it a lot! I will definitely be making this recipe again!
Our first baby has been born, a pepper from our garden!! Isn't she beautiful?! We are going to enjoy her one night this weekend! :)
Okay, the moment you've been waiting for my reviews! At the health food store this week I noticed some new raw crackers. I am a huge fan of raw crackers, but never make my own (hello, LAZY), anyway, I usually stick to the Livin Spoonful brand because they are my favorite. But this week I decided to give these a whirl. Mauk Family Farms makes them and they had 3 different flavors. I couldn't pick one so tried out all 3! The one on the left is made with pumpkin seeds and is probably my favorite. The one on the right reminded me of a sesame bagel, yum and the third one isn't pictured, because T and I got hungry before I took a pic, it was a breakfast crust. Filled with goji berries and seeds it had a sweet taste that was a nice change from the other savory flavors. No strange ingredients here, that's what I like!
The next review is for Zukay Horseradish Dill Relish. I think Zukay products are great, and I especially love the fact that they are filled with probiotics, which is great my Crohn's! I have met the owners on a few occasions and they are really wonderful, easy to talk too people. I wish them nothing but the best with there fabulous line of raw goodies. This though was my least favorite of all the products they make. Maybe I am not a relish fan, but I couldn't bring myself to eat more of it. I have been throwing it in salads so I couldn't taste it as much. Don't take my word for it, if you are a relish fan, this might be your healthy answer! I hope to try some of the salad dressings next! The Weekly Gab:

Holy Guacamole, girlfriend! What kind of fertilizer are you using in that garden? I can't believe you're harvesting already.

Hello, little pepper!

I have lots of buds on my pepper plants and two itsy bitsy teeny tiny lil' peppers. My greens, on the other hand, are growing like weeds! It excites me to no end to walk out the back door and say, "Hmmm, what shall I pick to put in my green smoothie today?"

Thanks for the nice shout out and referral over at Crazy Sexy Life. MUAH!

Since you don't have a Vitamix, did you make the soup in a regular blender or food processor? I haven't made the soups yet b/c I don't know if my blender can handle it. :(

HI Earth-Momma!
We don't use any chemicals!! Just organic mushroom compost and I spray it with a natural bug repellent (I think it's lavendar and canola oil?). So happy they used your article! :)

Hi LifesDelights,

I had to use my food processor, my blender would have really died if I used it! :)

hope you're having the best time this evening @ Pure Food & Wine, Lauren! yay!

those raw crusts sound so good! i have tried the horseradish-dill relish and liked it alright - just took me a little bit to get used to the fact that it was a little fizzy. sorry it was a little disappointing! i'm also sorry that the hippie loaf crumbled up - glad it was super tasty though! i'm not a huge fan of raw soups either, i think they take some getting used to - i'll work on that! they sound so delicious and look great, but i think for me it's a texture thing. hoooooooooray for the little pepper - she's adorable!

hope your weekend is most awesome, Lauren! :)

I kind of think I would prefer the loaf disassembled like that.

I am skeptical of cold soups - perhaps I will try one soon, but they certainly don't scream 'try me!'. I have made raw crackers a few times in the past, and they are a pain in the butt but the results are nice.

I hope you had fun this weekend!

I did not like the zukay products, especially the relish and sadly, we threw away almost all of it.
