Time to Shine

Hey All!! Welcome to all my new readers!! I am so excited and happy that I could reach out and inspire so many people. All of the comments on Crazy Sexy Life really warmed my heart. It really is amazing to talk with others who are going through the same thing. Crohns, colitis, any auto-immune disease, there is no reason to be ashamed. When I was first diagnosed I was so embarrassed that I barely left the house. I didn't want to have to use public restrooms for "that" or even worse have an accident. But life is so much more then Crohns. You can live a normal life! Believe in your dreams, have faith and you will shine. I promise! :)

Please, send me any questions, I will be happy to answer in my next blog post. Also, I wanted to mention that my friend Casey asked if he could do a guest post on my blog. He isn't a vegan, doesn't have a disease, doesn't even live in NJ anymore but he is a crazy funny guy! I promise it will be entertaining! I owe him a lot since he is T's best friend and is the one who got us together!
It was so beautiful here yesterday that we decided to take Ginger to the park and go on a nice walk in the woods. When we came to the lake we saw tons of turtles. If you remember the last time we were here the lake was frozen. Bring on SPRING!
Everything is blooming and color is coming back! Hooray! I just love getting fresh air and sunshine. It really is vital to a healthy life.
The other night I made a red cabbage salad with avocado, olive oil, lemon juice and some cooked asparagus. I only cooked them for a few minutes to take the edge off of them. I have read about eating them raw but they didn't taste that great to me. Feel free to share your raw ideas, I would love to enjoy them that way next time.
Last night I made lentil and kale soup. I haven't had this much cooked food in a week or so and my stomach was not happy. The more fruit and raw vegetables I eat, the more my body rejects cooked food. I am still reading 80-10-10 and I am finding it very easy to fill up on fruit. I feel amazing afterwards and have found that bananas are very healing to the stomach.
I won't be posting for a few days because of my colonoscopy. But thanks again for all the wonderful comments. I am truly blessed!

Maya and I were hiking in the woods this afternoon and I couldn't believe all of the GREEN poking through the earth. The earth is waking up from her long winter's nap (thankyougod!). We saw turtles sunbathing on the river as well.

Best of luck tomorrow. Hope all is well.
